Artificial Flower Arrangements Are Sometimes the Best

I know some people will balk at the very idea of artificial flower arrangements as the centerpiece of a table or as decoration of any kind. While I agree that in some situations artificial flowers are not appropriate, I think that in some instances such arrangements are the best route to take.

One of the things that I most appreciate about artificial flower arrangements is that no matter what time of year it is and regardless of how much light is in the room, they are always the same. It is easy to tell that they are not real, but still, they are very pretty, and I don't think most people honestly care if they see an artificial arrangement as opposed to the real deal.

Another great thing about artificial flower arrangements is that they never have to be watered. This may seem pretty obvious, and might not be a big deal for some people, but for me, I have always had difficulty figuring out just exactly how much flowers need to be watered. I almost always water them too much or too little, and they die. Then I have to go out and buy them from a florist, which brings me to my next point.

Real flowers are expensive! I know that I have spent a lot more on flower arrangements than I have really cared to before, and wondered why I did not go to a local arts and crafts store and pick up an artificial arrangement and be done with it.

Now, I understand there are times where artificial flower arrangements are not appropriate. For instance, I would never had one at a funeral. I would certainly not have any at a wedding and I definitely would never give one to my wife for an anniversary or Valentines Day. I sincerely doubt I would ever live that down!

But artificial flower arrangements are perfect for things like a centerpiece for a coffee table, or something to put in the office at work. I don't really think that anyone is going to mind that there are not real flowers in those types of situations, and I have found that most of the time I hear more comments on how realistic they look, or that even though they are artificial, they are still really pretty.

I guess it just all depends on how you look at it. For some people, artificial flower arrangements are simply out of the question. The mere idea of it reeks of insincerity and shallowness. For me, personally, I believe that they have a purpose, and while I would not use them in all circumstances, I do not see a problem using them on some occasions.
